Hyundai has unveiled the 2015
Sonata, which is a heavily revised version of the existing luxury saloon, which
is on sale in India.
The new Sonata has a more conservative
design than its predecessor, and borrows its design cues from Hyundai's new
Genesis sedan. It is also larger than the older car, measuring 35111 longer and
30mm wider. It also sits on a 20mm longer wheelbase. The interiors exude a
premium feel and are packed with features like a touch screen colour display. Power-adjusted
and heated/cooled seats, a panoramic sunroof, an automatic key proximity-based
boot lid etc.
Three engine options vvi11 be
available for the car including a 2.o-litre CVVL, a 2.4-litre GDi and a 2.0-litre
LPi. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual and a six-speed
automatic. Even in the new guise the Sonata will not get a diesel engine
option, which has restricted the car's sales in India.
