The
New York Auto Show played host to some new metal, and some rather unspectacular
old-pretending-to-be-new metal.
FLUIDIC
SONATA 2.0
Hyundai's
turning this into a bit of a habit now, isn't it? Getting out rather neat
looking cars, that is. Its new North American CEO Dave Zuckowski pulled the
wraps off this elegant looking new Sonata.
The Fluidic Sculpture
design is now in version 2.0. This, Hyundai claims gives it a more dignified,
respectable and confident look. There are now harder angles, straighter edges,
a bigger grille, redesigned headlights and quad chrome-tipped exhausts. On the
inside is a redesigned and bigger interior and now there's slightly more power
from the 2.4 litre four cylinder and 2.0 litre turbo-four which makes
driveability in low-rpm situations better. And, as is to be expected, there are
more safety features and tech to fiddle with.
